Part I. Circular and linear risk in the banking portfolio – 11th February 2021
The first part of the seminar is dedicated to new trends in banking and risks in linear and circular business models. The session will conclude with an overview of available circularity assessment tools.
Assessment of circular and linear risks of the banking portfolio and implications on banks’ capital requirements
Slaven Mičkovič, PhD., Senior Risk Analyst, Nova KBM, and Jurij Giacomelli, MSc., Director, Gm & CBA, will present new trends in banking focusing on the financing of circular and sustainable businesses. The speech will be based on their article published in the Journal for Money and Banking, which can be accessed here (page 72).
Overview of circular assessment tools
Jana Fireoved, M.A.I.S., Programme Manager, Gm & CBA, will explain the aim of circularity assessment tools and provide an overview of existing tools indicating how they are used and where their respective strengths and weaknesses lie
Part II. Our new approach to circularity assessment –18th February 2021
In the second part the upgraded Circularity Assessment Score will be presented. In addition, challenges and responsibilities of banks and companies will be elaborated on. We will conclude the programme by welcoming new members to our CEP Club.
The upgraded Circularity Assessment Score and its opportunities – CAS 2.0
The CBA Team will present a new and upgraded Circularity Assessment Score (CAS). The upgraded CAS 2.0 now offers an even deeper understanding and managing of linear and circular risks. It can help entrepreneurs and managers to better analyse and justify circular business investment opportunities vis-à-vis banks and investors and identify appropriate forms of financing. Together we will go through the questionnaire and evaluate results from actual companies.
Challenges and required action from banks and companies
Christoph Püntmann, PhD., Managing Partner, HiBrook, will explain the implications of the linear – circular paradigm shift for banks and companies with regards to financing based on new risk criteria and the required action to facilitate the circular transition.
Circular business model transformation and its implications for organisational growth and leadership
Katja Hleb, Senior Partner, BE Solutions, will address the organisational aspects that play a role in the transformation process and beyond, shedding light on how leadership changes and what the transformation means for organisational growth.
New members of the Circular Expert Practitioners Club
We will end the two-part programme by welcoming new members to the Circular Expert Practitioners club. In order to become a member, participants must sign a statement of declaration, agreeing to make their best efforts to contribute to the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals and to the transition to the circular economy.
